Cyclone Winston is known to be the most devastating tropical cyclone to ever strike the Southern Hemisphere. So far, 43 deaths have been confirmed and approximately 350,000 people were affected in Fiji. There is at present a nationwide multi-agency response to reduce the impact of the disaster on vulnerable communities. Campus Life has taken the initiative to provide a Psychological Help Kit for the University of the South Pacific’s community and their families. The kit is designed to assist individuals affected by TC Winston deal with the psychological trauma and sort help from Professional Counsellors if their problems persist. This initiative is in alignment with Government’s recovery activities that include rebuilding infrastructure, health care and rehabilitation. |
