A number of our students have unfortunately lost all
their belongings in a recent fire at Nailuva Road.USP through the Office of the Vice-President
Administration stands ready to support them and will do all it can to ensure
that there is a smooth flow to their studies particularly as we near
exams.A USP Student Relief Account at
the Book Centre has been established and everyone is encouraged to assist in
cash or in kind.Mr Umesh Prasad, Acting

with regard to the Student Relief Account.
To date the Office of the Vice-President (Administration)
with the Commercial Operations and Book Centre have attended to the following:-
1.Accommodation for both male and female students at the University's
Residential Property.
2.Provided
breakfast for the students affected this morning.
3.Organized
a USP Student Relief Account at the Book Centre (as above).
4. Provided
each student with USP apparel/clothing as majority of them had lost their
clothes in the fire.
5.Provision
of key stationery items like exercise books, pencil case, pens and rulers etc.
6.Contacted
Vodafone and Digicel to assist students with sim and data support.
7.Assist
with facilitating discussions with regard to issues pertaining to bond and
rent.
8.Ensure
smooth transition with the preparation for examinations with the Senior
Management Team.
