Dear All

A number of our students have unfortunately lost all their belongings in a recent fire at Nailuva Road.USP through the Office of the Vice-President Administration stands ready to support them and will do all it can to ensure that there is a smooth flow to their studies particularly as we near exams.A USP Student Relief Account at the Book Centre has been established and everyone is encouraged to assist in cash or in kind.Mr Umesh Prasad, Acting Director Commercial Operations/Book Centre, can be contacted on extension no. 31932 or at umesh.prasad@usp.ac.fj<mailto:umesh.prasad@usp.ac.fj> with regard to the Student Relief Account.

To date the Office of the Vice-President (Administration) with the Commercial Operations and Book Centre have attended to the following:-

2.Provided breakfast for the students affected this morning.

3.Organized a USP Student Relief Account at the Book Centre (as above).

4. Provided each student with USP apparel/clothing as majority of them had lost their clothes in the fire.

5.Provision of key stationery items like exercise books, pencil case, pens and rulers etc.

6.Contacted Vodafone and Digicel to assist students with sim and data support.

7.Assist with facilitating discussions with regard to issues pertaining to bond and rent.

8.Ensure smooth transition with the preparation for examinations with the Senior Management Team.
